Frequently asked questions
How does the pricing look like?
Creating an account is free, and the free tier has no time limit. As long as you are happy flying for 1-star airlines, you can stay on it as long as you like. If you want access to the full app, including the higher-rated airlines, it costs €19.99. There is no monthly subscription.
What do I need to play?
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, a Windows PC for the FlyOmega tracker, and a free SimBrief account for flight plans. Support for X-Plane 12 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is planned.
What kind of flights are there?
Passenger and cargo. Each airline in the game is either a passenger airline or a cargo airline, and cargo airlines fly freight. You fly the airline's own fleet on its routes. Your work comes as a line of several flights, which you bid for and then fly one sector at a time.
How does promotion work?
Your seat depends on the hours you have flown at your airline. Airlines open positions dynamically, based on how many pilots they actually need in each seat. When a higher seat opens, eligible coworkers compete for it, judged on hours, reputation and time in their current seat.
Are these the real airlines?
Airline names, fleets and routes are modelled on the real airlines, so the game feels familiar. FlyOmega is independent and not affiliated with any airline, Microsoft or Asobo. It is made for flight simulation only, and an airline will be removed if its rights owner asks for it.
Can I run my own airline?
Player-run operators are planned for a later release. Possible features include founding your own airline, leasing or buying aircraft, opening routes, hiring other pilots as crew, appointing managers, and keeping an eye on your finances. This will be a one-time purchase for €9.99 on top of the full app.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, any time in Settings. Your account, profile and career data are erased with it, immediately and for good. Your login history is deleted with it. Routine backups are overwritten automatically on a short schedule. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
